Abstract

El manejo de estrés del oso pardo (Ursus arctos) en el Bioparque Guátika es una prioridad para garantizar el bienestar y la salud de los osos pardos en cautiverio. El estrés puede manifestarse como un comportamiento anormal o repetitivo y puede tener un impacto negativo en la salud física y mental del animal. Existen algunos centros que velan por el bienestar y preservación de la fauna silvestre en peligro de extinción, uno de ellos son los Bioparques. En este caso el Bioparque Guátika tiene la obligación de brindar los cuidados necesarios para las distintas especies que allí alberga, mejorando así las condiciones de cautiverio y fomentando el bienestar biológico, ambiental y mental de los animales. For this reason, veterinary professionals in charge of animal management face daily situations that involve clinical evaluations, administration of medical treatments and obtaining samples. These activities involve significant risk due to the various individual variables of the animals, such as weight, size, strength and temperament.
