Decision-making guide before the presentation of tvg in the veterinary clinic vets, based on retrospective analysis and literature collection

Abstract

La torsión vólvulo gástrica (TVG) es una enfermedad de presentación aguda, que puede considerarse como una urgencia veterinaria debido a la alta tasa de mortalidad que genera y el poco tiempo que tarda en generar injuria en los pacientes que la presentan. Es debido a esto que se hace importante para una clínica tener una guía de acción enfocada en el manejo de esta enfermedad. Durante las prácticas realizadas en la clínica veterinaria VETAS, se profundizó a fondo sobre el tema para así expandir los conocimientos sobre la terapéutica de esta enfermedad y se creó un algoritmo clínico sobre la patología, enfocado en el manejo más oportuno de un paciente que la presente, abarcando los procesos desde la consulta y anamnesis, hasta la resolución quirúrgica de la patología, para obtener un material visual, fácil de entender y accesible a los miembros de la clínica al momento de necesitarse.

The Gastric dilatation volvulus (DVG) is an acute syndrome, which can be considered as a veterinary urgency, due to the high mortality rate that it causes and the short time that takes to create injury into the patient. Because of that, is highly important for a veterinary medical center to have a process guide focused on the management of the disease. During the practices performed in VETAS, the topic was deeply addressed to increase the knowledge of the therapy and treatment of the pathology. Also, a clinical algorithm was created, focused on the best handling of the disease, starting since the anamnesis up to the surgery resolution. The creation of this visual material will help to the medical center personal, being easy to understand and helpful when they are faced to this pathology.
