A relationship between sustainability and focus in one health, a literature review in the Scopus database between 2013 and 2023.

Abstract

One Health (Una salud) y sostenibilidad son dos términos que están estrechamente conectados y tienen la finalidad de mejorar la salud humana, salud animal y medio ambiente. Cuando estos dos conceptos se incorporan se logra abarcar grandes desafíos tanto de salud como de medio ambiente de una forma sostenible. Un ejemplo claro es la agricultura sostenible y buen manejo de desechos animales que ayudan a mitigar el impacto ambiental y así mismo ayudar a la salud humana y animal. Por esto es tan importante incorporar estas dos disciplinas tanto One Healthcomo sostenibilidad en un solo elemento.

One Health and sustainability are two terms that are specifically related to and intended to improve human health, animal health, and the environment. When these two concepts are incorporated, it is possible to cover great challenges of both health and the environment in a sustainable way. A clear example is sustainable agriculture and good management of animal waste that help reduce environmental impact and also help human and animal health. This is why it is so important to incorporate these two disciplines, both One Health and sustainability in a single element.
