Abstract

La Fasciola hepática es un agente parasitario que afecta diversas especies animales principalmente los rumiantes y también al humano, esta puede causar pérdidas económicas considerables en producciones pecuarias como la bovina, generando una gran disminución de parámetros productivos como ganancia de peso, decomiso de hígados a nivel de plantas de beneficio, baja en la producción de leche y hasta procesos que puedan llevar a la muerte del animal, esto principalmente en zonas endémicas donde se encuentre su huésped intermediario, el caracol del género Lymnaea sp., conocido por su notable resistencia a las condiciones medioambientales, el cual exhibe un incremento significativo en su potencial reproductivo durante las épocas de lluvia. En los humanos puede llegar a ocasionar diversa sintomatología como inflamación hepática, dolor abdominal, fiebre, náuseas, vómitos, y en casos graves complicaciones como abscesos hepáticos y obstrucción biliar

Fasciola hepatica is a parasitic agent that affects various species animals, mainly ruminants and also humans, this can cause considerable economic losses in livestock production such as beef, generating a great decrease in productive parameters such as profit weight, confiscation of livers at the level of processing plants, decrease in production of milk and even processes that can lead to the death of the animal, this mainly in endemic areas where its host is found intermediary, the snail of the genus Lymnaea sp., known for its remarkable resistance to environmental conditions, which exhibits an increase significant in its reproductive potential during rainy seasons. In the humans can cause various symptoms such as inflammation liver, abdominal pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, and in severe cases complications such as liver abscesses and biliary obstruction
