Typification and evaluation of physical injuries that affect the carcass performance of birds slaughtered in a processing plant located in the city of Bogotá.

Abstract

La finalidad de la presente investigación fue la identificación de los diferentes factores, que contribuyen a la presentación de lesiones en las aves de engorde, que pueden afectar su bienestar antes y durante su beneficio. Se realizó la evaluación mediante el muestreo por grupos, el conteo de la totalidad de las lesiones obtenidas fue 107 lotes (n= 329.000 aves) procesados en una planta de beneficio ubicada en la ciudad de Bogotá, de noviembre 2022 a diciembre del año 2023. The purpose of the present investigation was the identification of the different factors that contribute to the presentation of lesions in fattening birds, which can affect their welfare before and during their benefit. Which was evaluated through group sampling, this consists of the count of all the lesions obtained in 107 batches (n= 329,000 birds) processed in a slaughter plant located in the city of Bogotá from November 2022 to December of the year 2023.
