El objetivo principal de esta estrategia es ¨buscar un mundo en el que el bienestar de los animales se respete promueva y avance me manera que complemente la búsqueda de la sanidad animal, el bienestar humano, el desarrollo socioeconómico y la sostenibilidad del medio ambiente¨ (organización mundial de la salud, antes OIE- mayo 2017). Adicionalmente, mediante el Acuerdo Distrital 761 de 2020 le fueron otorgadas al Instituto Distrital de Protección y Bienestar Animal – IDPYBA, las funciones de inspección y vigilancia sobre lestablecimientos y prestadores de servicios que desarrollen actividades con y para animales en el Distrito Capital y en desarrollo de las directrices del Acuerdo Distrital 765 de 2020, en especial lo contemplado en los artículos 2 y 3, realiza, entre otras actividades; inspección y vigilancia todos los animales domésticos usados para actividades productivas o recreativas en el Distrito Capital. Por medio de esta práctica y monografía a realizar en el área de inspección y vigilancia del Instituto Distrital de Protección y Bienestar Animal - IDPYBA, subdirección de cultura, ubicado en la Carrera 10 No 26 – 51. Edificio Residencias Tequendama, entidad que tiene como objetivo ‘‘Proteger la vida y ser garantes del trato digno hacia los animales, a través de acciones de protección y bienestar animal, generando e impulsando procesos ciudadanos innovadores de transformación cultural, mediante la promoción prácticas de relacionamiento humano – animal‘‘, se pretende proporcionar información sobre los efectos que, frente al calentamiento global, la sobreproducción pecuaria puede generar, y su potencial impacto en bienestar animal correlacionado con la aparición de enfermedades emergentes y reemergentes en sanidad animal, salud pública y zoonosis en este tipo de producciones; y, de esta manera, con el producto (monografía) realizado, generar conciencia de cambio hacia el aporte que, como médicos veterinarios debemos integrar en el ejercicio de nuestras funciones en pro de Una Salud, Un Bienestar y Un AmbienteAt the global level, the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) has an animal welfare strategy based primarily on developing international animal health standards and currently with a focus on animal welfare, implemented in the competencies of veterinary services.
